Materials Used

Carbon Steel

Southern Precision has an extensive knowledge of efficient production with a variety of carbon steels. Stocks of basic materials (En1a, En24T, En36) are held in stock or are available generally on a next day basis from our suppliers.
 
Our experience covers:
 

• The entire En range of carbon steel
• Certain Steel Alloy in either normal, T or V condition
• Mild steel in both round and Flat Bar
• Steel commonly used for Oil, Aircraft and Military applications

Alloys

Southern Precision have produced a variety of items from both stock material and castings.
 
Previous grades used include:
 

• HE30 (6082T6)
• L102
• L168

 
Material Mill Certificates are available if required.

Exotic Stainless Steels

Stainless Steels:  
More than 50% of the materials cut at Southern Precision fall under the Stainless Steel Category. We generally carry stock of the most common grades 303 & 316, although we will also segregate raw material stock for customers where repeat orders are likely.

Southern Precision have been working with super alloys for a number of years in a variety of applications from Formula 1 racing to oil processing.
