Skilled CNC Programmer/Setter/Operator -August 2018

Southern Precision is looking for a skilled CNC Engineer for its expanding operation in Westbury, Wiltshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC Machining and Turning Centres. He or she will ideally be an apprentice-trained machinist, with previous CNC machining experience.

Duties will include:

• Being able to read and understand engineering drawings including geometric tolerances
• A good knowledge of basic machine programming (Fanuc, Mazatrol and Okuma)
• Be able to change & adjust Machine offsets to maintain drawing tolerances
• Able to prove out new programs safely
• Able to work without constant supervision
• 4  Axis turning and milling experience an advantage

Daily Job Tasks:

• Strictly adhere to client job specification and ensure good quality work
• Measure all parts accurately
• Keep workbench and work area clean and tidy in line with 5S principles
• Troubleshoot machine problems to determine actual faults
